I have an 03 plate Mk 2 galaxy. My 4yr old daughter shoved the cd magazine into the cd changer upsidedown and it no longer works!!! I cannot get a new one from Ford (obselete) but there are loads on e-bay secondhand. I bought one which did not work. I am unsure if that was someone selling a dud or a compatibility issue. Does anyone know how interchangable these changers are or do I need to find an exact match on the part number. Hendy Ford mechanics said most would fit OK but an autoelectrical firm said they need to match? Am confused. My head unit is a FORD 5000 rds and my changer is a 95VW-18C849-BA. Any help would be most welcome or any other ways to get some cd's playing again, ta[/font]

Are the plugs round, square or oblong? What colour are they?

Can you post an image of the connectors on the CD player?

when i was after a multi changer i was told by several car hi-fi installers that the ford radios are made by visteon and will only couple up to a ford (visteon unit).

now that was 8 years ago so time has moved on !!!!!

perhaps there are others that will match up, or even some sort of adapter ??? in line to fit a more common brand??

any car hi-fi installers near your home ???

New member, have a Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI auto. 2005. The 6cd changer has discs in it but when you operate the cd button on the front panel it says no cd. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?
