Partspike Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 HiI have a v reg galaxy 2.3 ghia x and recently the heater has started to stay on continuously when the ignition is on. It's the digital type heater not the knob type. It doesn't respond to the turning up and down buttons it's just constantly on high. Has anyone got any ideas of what the problem could beThank you Quote
chromedome Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 It sounds like the "hedgehog" or fan speed controller located on the side of the heater behind the glovebox. I think it is normally coloured green or red and held in place by one screw. It is a common problem, not just Galaxys, and when they fail you can only get high speed fan. Quote
Partspike Posted May 14, 2012 Author Report Posted May 14, 2012 Thanks for that ChromedomeSo I need to get a new fan speed controller? Is it easy to get at and replace Quote
chromedome Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 It must be one of the easier things to change on a Galaxy :D . Remove the glove box and you will see it attached to the left hand side of the heater. Make sure you get the controller for climate control and not manual. Quote
