Guest sian Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 I have just bought a V6 Galaxy with factory fitted DVD and Sat Nav system. I now find out that the the DVD audio can only be played through supplied headphones. How can I get this extended so that audio comes through the car speakers. I see that the radio/nav has a setting on the Audio settings of 'Aux: Audio/Video'. Can this be hooked to the DVD? Also keen to extend the system to have the DVD play through the front satnav screen, plus add TV tuner. Any experts/sites that can advise me? Thanks. Quote
Guest kd035050 Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 All you need is a FM modulator, you take the sound output from the dvd to the fm modulator wich is in turn connected into your FM arial supplying your head unit. The FM modulator will convert your audio signal into an FM channel that you can tune your head unit to receive. These FM modulators are available in halfords for Quote
Guest sian Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 With a lot of advice from the DVD King jakey247 (!) I have managed to achieve both my goals, get DVD output from the 10 speakers and get DVD picture in the SatNav screen. In summary here is what I did:1. Buy a special unit that converts the DVD analogue signal into a form suitable for the SatNav unit. This is distributed by www.soundlinks.co.uk, they have a list of retailers on their website. Part no. is VAG02VID, I bought is for Quote
Guest steve Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Can anybody tell me how to get the sound from a boot mounted dvd player with yellow, red & white RCA connectors, to play through the 10 speakers in my Seat Alhambra. A 12 pin connector already exists in the boot, but of course, it's completely different from the sockets on the dvd player. Does an adapter exist? Steve. BTW I'm not completely happy about going down the FM modulator route as I've not read a good review of one yet. I think I've solved the problem myself. I've ordered an adapter that allows me to connect the phono leads from the dvd player to the cd changer input on the back of the headset. Ordered it from www.caraudiodirect.com Quote
