Mk2 2.3 Electrical Issue

Hi guys,

 

Just bought an 03 2.3 LX, didn't happen to unlock the car before I bought it, when I get's home, I lock and unlock the car using the key in the key hole and the windows open on their own... anyone know what the issue is that causes this?

 

Also the key I got is a standard key (No fob) Is remote central locking an option on this model and if so how does one go about sourcing a new fob?... what's the procedure and costs involved?

if you hold the key in the lock/unlock postion for more then a couple of seconds then this will engage the global opening/closing.

as yours is a 03 then i would say yes it should have remote locking on it.

somewhere on the forum should tell you how to get the CORRECT details for your car,for the fob.

once you have the details then you can buy the fob from the likes of ebay.
