Ello all,

I have alloy's on my 1.9TDi and my tyres are forever deflating. None of the tyres have any problems as far as I can see and are all less than a year old. I'm sure this is just leakage between tyre and rim, but I am not sure. Has anyone got any ideas as to how to keep them at the right pressure or do I have to buy shares in my local garage's air pump ?

Cheers in advance for any help offered :(

have the cores come loose , are they sealed on rim correctly

valve caps dont meen no leaks !!!!!

The remedy for leakage between tyre and rim used to be an inner tube, but I'm sure that this is frowned upon now, if not illegal. IIRC, I once had a liquid sealant applied aound the bead on the rim before the tyre was replaced (not on the Galaxy), which I think solved the problem.

Otherwise, invest in a foot pump and cancel the gym subscription.

i had three new tyres fiited and all of them leaked slowly.

i took them back to the fitter who applied the sealer to the rims, no leaks now.

a black rubber based sealent is what i used to use ,as long as all the loose paint is removed and a generous coat is applied then you will never get another problem,as good as new, although when replacing a tyre i would always fit a new valve as well.

:D :D :D
