Flump Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Hello and thanks for taking time to read my problem. It all started on saturday night , when my alterantor went. Had a new alternator fitted (correct type).Battery fully discharged, so i took the battery off and charged it.The problem now is that after about 10 mins or so the auto gearbox is realy lumpy when changing and there is no power, but it still drives.I have had a auto electrician to look at it and the only faults he could find where the following: Fuse for consumtion cut off (s157) , he says it might be the brake light switch causing the problems , is this possible ?. The car has always been serviced at reqular intervals , its done about 60 thousand miles from new.And also the internal lighting isnt working.Im just about to be made unemployed so money is realy realy tight and any help would be apreciated regarding this problem. The car is as follows Galaxy 1.9 TDI Auto On a 05 plate Thanks for reading the above Quote

sparky Paul Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Good to hear that your problem was fixed, but welcome to the forum anyway. To be fair, they are a pretty helpful bunch on here. It is possible that no one replied because no one who saw your thread could help - and once it drops off the first page of replies, it disappears off the horizon... it's worth bumping it up yourself (by posting a reply) to make sure as many of the regular posters as possible see it. Some members, myself included, only visit every couple of days or so, so new unanswered threads can be easily missed. I would also suggest to anyone with a problem to try to make full use of the search function, and look through the extensive FAQ section for common issues, and add a post where the information has helped you. Thanks for coming back and explaining the successful fix for your problem, I'm sure it will be very helpful for future reference. Quote
