(which I adore immensely) and thanks to all the contributors to this site, I have already fixed the drivers door window and rear passenger central locking fault (broken door wires) and fitted new wing mirrors (door card removal)using the great guides your members have made available, Thanks for this So my question, filled my washer bottle up at the weekend, using the car this morning got a strong whiff of washer fluid inside the car, traced the smell to the front passenger foot well, carpet was soaked. I'm wondering If the rear washer pipe runs up the passenger side of the car and may have sprung a leak? too dark to start taking a look now but any help to point me in the right direction gratefully received. I will update the forum with my findings either way :) Thanks Bill Quote
Bill Button Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 found this post using the forum search Remove the trim along edge of passenger door opening (2 or 3 screws iirc) lift sodden wet carpet and sound deadening material look at the bunch of wires running along the edge, you should see a black plastic tube that has a joint this can become separated in cold weather due to water freezing, windscreen washer water bottle emptied itself in the car. Push the joint back together you should hear it click then place a small cable tie around it tight that will stop it coming off again : I will sort this out now. a tip always do a search :) Quote

I removed the plastic trim on mine to get at it. The main problem is the sound deadening under the carpet which is basically a big sponge and took weeks to dry out. Hi Gregers, yeah just up the road, no and no, mines a silver one and a simple LXI TDI took a chance and got it locally from Findon via, Fleebay, nice price so treated it to a service and a cambelt change, its just done a trip to cornwall last weekend, fantastic drive, Quote
