Guest amm_uk Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Hi, I have recently bought a 1999 Galaxy 1.9 TDi, which has the original Ford fit 2006 Radio Cass. unit. I have a nice Blaupunkt Radio CD unit which I want to fit in place. I go to Halfords and purchase a Ford to DIN adapter - only to find when I remove the Ford radio, it has DIN plugs on. Hmmm to good to be true ? I plug the Dins into my Blaupunkt, and Nothing ??? <_< Just comes up with Phone Mute on the display. Several calls to Ford, & Blaupunkt have proved fruitless. A local car Audio store says he can make it work for Quote
charles Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 had same problem. ISO connectors are the same, but Ford wired the ISO connector slightly different than standard. Ford exchanged the permanent power and switched power wire.Had to cut the wires and join them again. Quote
charles Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 This was the case for mine car. Carefully check your connections! could be different. When wrongly connected you can blow your car radio! Quote

Guest Parme Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 I also had to invert the permanent power and switched power wire on my '99 TDI before putting in my kenwood radio. Seems to me that there were 2 earth wires too. Don't know what the other wires are (blue and red/white - maybe amp/ant and phone mute ???). Does anyone have a little diagram of the Ford version ISO connecter ? Thanks, Parme Quote
