Guest andybeezer Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 My Galaxy (02 model) has just developed a very irritating rattle/vibration when the speed gets above 60mph. It comes from the near side of the fascia close to the quarter light window. I've tried everything to track it down because it's driving me nuts! Anyone had the same problem? Quote
Guest andybeezer Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 Did you manage to work out where it came from - or have you learnt to live with it? Quote
Guest nelse Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 My 53 plate (bought in early may this year) developed a rattle in the drivers door after about a week, lasted about 2 days then dissapeared, came back a few days later for a day or two then dissapeared again. Crossing my fingers because it hasn't been heard since (nearly two weeks). Quote
Dally Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 nelse I have a rattle in the drivers door - comes from the door opening clasp. It stops when the the door is locked - perhaps because their is no slack in the mechanicals when it is locked. Quote
Denis Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Yes I have the same problem. It is intermittent though and as my wife drives the car most of the time (I prefer to ride my bike) I haven't bothered much with it. though the dratted wind noise from the top of the drivers door drowns out most noises!!! rwtomkins Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 Andybeezer, I had a rattle from that general direction - don't notice it anymore, so either I got used to it or it's fixed itself - and it was the catch on the big storage locker that opens out onto the passenger's knees. Quote
Guest Andyjflet Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 Ive posted on this before, mine is a flapping sound and Ive now tracked it down to the wind getting underneath the wipers which then vibrate on the window, only new wipers or those clip on fins will do the trick. Quote
rwtomkins Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 That sounds much more likely than my offering. On a similar note, I remember ages ago someone also mentioned that at a higher speeds you can get knocking or rattling noises coming from that plastic fitting that runs along the bottom of the windscreen under the wipers (forgive non-technical lingo). If it happens you just need to knock or nudge the fitting into a slightly different position. Quote
Dave-G Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 I had a seriously annoying one(cos it was the only rattle) that turned out to be the fusebox cover, stuffed a driving glove inside the cover which sorta "tensioned" and stopped it  Quote
djacks42 Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 String-back or regular.. details man! Quote
