unbelievably frustrated

several months ago the heater on my Ka3 ceased to function on settings 1,2 or 3, but worked just dandy on number 4. I managed to live with this (grudgingly). However, today, the warmest April day that I can emember, it stopped working on level 4. Aah, I thought, I'll just have to open the windows but guess what? Thats right, they didn't work either. Niether do my brake lights, head lights or main beam (although sidelights are ok).

What has gone wrong? Is my wiring loom fried? All fuses appear ok!

Can anyone help me please before I roast to death in a dark dark world???

ok, I found the suspects.

There was a melted connector in the passenger foot well which went into a socket with a red lump of clay on the back. So i rewired this but used the old red clay thingy. Also there was a relay behind the fuse box that had melted itself to the box. I have replaced the relay with a ford part (the top green one). Great!!! everything that was down is working fine now.

Unfortunately there is now an even greater problem. The engine keeps cutting out and is missing for the most time on acceleration and deceleration. Changing gear just as it is dieing or badly missing seems to help although just revving alone only makes the problem worse. Occassionaly everything kicks in fine for a minute or two but no more.

Is this problem connected to the others??

Oh just one more thing; before curing the initial prob's i sprayed WD40 into all the wiring connectors, could this have caused the trouble?
