sasquartch Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 I'm about to replace the nearside driveshaft on my 2005 TDI (6 speed) Does anyone know what size of splined bit I need for the driveshaft bolts (6 bolts attaching shaft to gearbox) and the wishbone (2 bolts) ?? Also what size socket required for the big bolt ? (probably 26, 27 or 28mm) Any advice welcomed Quote
niallsan Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) HiWorking from memory!!!! I believe its a number 12 size triple square or splined bit. I believe its a 30mm socket for the hub bolt. Not 100pc sure about wishbone- guessing I'd say size 8mm allen bit? N Edited February 3, 2012 by niallsan Quote
sasquartch Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 Thanks. It's not a 30mm socket as I have one already and it's too big. Will take the bolt to the shop and see what size socket fits. It's really the size of the tool needed for the driveshaft flange bolts I'm interested in. Quote
Brash Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) Hi 27mm socket for the hub bolt and M12 star for the 6 drive shaft bolts.
