For about 2 months ago my radio started requesting the safe code each time I have had stopped the engine.

I enter the code and its ready again, but why?

Sometimes, more and more often I also the the error: "Safe pin not connected" or similar. Then I press OK 1, 2 or 20 times (while waiting a couple of seconds each time) and the it starts.

The car is a Ford Galaxy 03/2001 from Germany and the radio is the double din navigation system with cd-changer in the back.

I wanted to remove the radio but cannot figure out how to do so. When removed, I wanted to test if the power is connected of a fuse is blown. Is there a battery build into the radio? anybody with instructions on how to remove the radio?

Please let me have your comments. Thanks in advance.

radio can be removed with two bits of bent coat hanger in a U shape - about 2 inches long and the pitch of the twoprongs to match the 2 holes on either side of the head unit - the u pieces need to be pushed in and then either need to spread apart or pushed together(I cant rememnber which ) whilst pulling the head unit out towards you

I don't see the holes.. I might be blind, but sometimes its hard to see the trees when the forest is blocking the view

I have attached a picture of the unit.
