Guest LEGS Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Just bought my 2.0 Galaxy (96 vintage) and it only came with one key. Only when I tried to get another cut did I find out this has some sort of transponder inside - the local lock smith told me I would have to get it from Ford. Rang local Ford dealer and nearly had a heart attack !! (K J Ford - LLandudno Junction, N. Wales) They told me they could order a key and would have to get it cut locally - then they would need the car to 'program' the key - quoted in the region of Quote
galaxy-one Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I wonder if this will also work for a 2000 Galaxy? Quote
insider Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 The new keys are different - not sure how easy it is to get them cut. However, you can programme them yourself: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=13773 Quote

Beyond Help? Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 I contacted a local dealer with the Imobilizer Serial Number (obtained by using VAG-COM) and Log Book and ID and they got the 4 digit security number for my car. I then used VAG-COM to program the keys in. It is a shame your so far away really, otherwise I would have been more than happy to help. Quote
gregers Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 B/H,thanks for the kind offer if you were closer i wouldve taken you up on the offer. Quote
joczeze Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Dear Friends How did you get the imobilizer serial number ? with Vag-com in the imobilizer module ? I Quote
Beyond Help? Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 You get VAG-COM to read the immobilizer details. Once you have those and the paperwork you find a helpful dealer who will get the 4 digit code for you, once you have the code you use VAG-COM to program the keys to the car. Some early cars have the 4 digit key code written on the paperwork that came with the car. Quote

I have a VAG-COM on the way, and only 1 key, my local frauds quoted me Quote
