This was discussed here a while ago, several facelift models had a problem with wind noise at the top of the drivers door. I finally got round to having mine looked at by the local Ford dealer today.

Thay claimed to have cured the problem by adjusting the door but surprise surprise, driving home the problem is worse than ever.

So, anyone know what exactly needs to be done to cure the problem? I thought perhaps a modified rubber door seal?

The fix for this is apparently pulling the top of the door outwards yourself...

NOOOoooooo. I have mentioned this before but I will say it again. This will break the paint seal where the window frame meets the door and allow moisture in. 18 months to 2 years down the line you will be getting corrosion. I had exactly the same thing with a Renault, the dealer just bent the frame in when I complained about a gap at the top of the door and sure enough 18 months later rust was bubbling under the surface. Mine was fixed under warranty as the garage had done the damage.

Is it a real problem or just standard Galaxy wind noise caused by the roof bars. You can actually stick your fingers into the rubber seal gap when the door is shut and you are driving and if the noise seriously increases then you know you have not got a problem. If there is no change in sound level, then you have a problem.

At really high speeds (120+) the tops of the doors do bend out slightly.

Also check that the rubber seal and trim is pressed fully home right around the doors.

Is that MPH or KPH. Not sure my 130ps Diesel will get near a 100 MPH .

You've got a problem if it won't! Even the 115 will break the magic ton figure where it is legal to do so (or where it isn't, if you want to take the risk).

On a good day I have had my 2001 115 tdi at 120 mph (yes I know that is illegal, but it was on a clear stretch of M74 Mway no other traffic in site) and she would have gone faster, but I bottled out!!!
