hello all

ive got a 1.8 tdci lx 2008 galaxy with pink coolant/ antifreeze. Without thinking i topped it up with perhaps 3/4 pint of blue antifreeze. Will this cause any problems? Ive checked on the internet but so far with mixed answers..?? Some suggest this can create a gel which blocks the system, some say this is not a problem...also read its impossible to flush out the mixture...

My gut feeling is to just get the coolant drained and changed.

Thanks in advance

With any engine I would not mix coolant types at all. There can be issues with the rust inhibiting properties being lost and a gel forming. For the cost of a bottle of anti-freeze and small amount of work involved with giving the system a flush through, is it worth taking the chance?

no, you cant mix the 2 types.

just read a monthly sales flyer from eurocarparts that describes the two different types mix to create an acid that starts chomping away at metal ????

i would rather drain/refill/flush a few times before putting in the pink long-life stuff again
