jason.p Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Mine is a W reg 1.9 TD (2000) without any of the extra "computer" info displays, just the mileometer and tripmeter and reset button. Pressing the reset button doesn't do anything. I know on the scale of things this is a fairly trivial problem, but being self employed I need to keep a record of mileage for tax. Any ideas? Thanks. You are pressing and holding the button right? Takes about 2 seconds to reset. Quote
jason.p Posted October 29, 2011 Author Report Posted October 29, 2011 Thanks Mirez. Yeah, pressing and holding. Quote
Mirez Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Then either the clusters defective or the switch is, I would "reboot" the cluster (either taking the blue connector out of the back or disconnecting the battery (if you do the latter make sure you have the radio code)). If that's not a fix then the either strip down and check the switch for a dry joint or replace the cluster. Quote

seatkid Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Ignition needs to be on when you press the reset button. Quote
jason.p Posted October 31, 2011 Author Report Posted October 31, 2011 Yes, I had ignition on and engine running while pressing the reset button. I'll disconnect or pull fuse (if I can find the right one!) to try and "re-boot" the cluster as suggested. Thanks  Quote
