Galaxy 2.0 Diesel Starting Problems

problems starting

galaxy 2006- turns over then dies/cuts out until about the forth time of trying then a lot of black smoke on starting.Then runs fine.

could anyone help

i have the same problem ,on my i.9 tdi mk2 didn`t want to start ,then it did,runs ok for a while. exhaust smells more than usual,now it won`t fire up at all ,
