davewill Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Hi Just looking through older posts, there have been quite a few from people asking if the Powershift models are any good, and people who have bought a Powershift model and complained about the power lag at roundabouts etc. Just wondering what peoples impressions are now, as they would have had the car around 6 to 9 months?? personally i have had my 140bhp Titanium model for 9 months and done around 15,000 miles in it. (60 plate facelift model) I find that i drive it in "sports manual mode" as much as i drive it in "auto" mode The reason for this is better MPG (46mpg on a long journey is "manual mode" versus around 40mpg in "auto", and also i get frustrated in auto, as it takes up to around 3000 revs for the gearbox to change up from 3rd to 4th, or 4th to 5th. I still have problems with power lag when coming to roundabouts, i.e slow down then try a quick getaway, and no power for around 1 and a half seconds, then boom you surge forwards. I took it for its 12500 service back in July, and asked about a software update, but was told there was no update available at that time. Overall very happy with the car, just these small frustrations that i have had to get used to. Whats everyone elses feelings now the cars a few months old.?? Quote
bob59 Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 Hi Just got a 2012 2.0 diesel powershift and have found the same problem. Would be pleased to know if an updated software would solve the problem.Regards Bob Quote
davewill Posted November 20, 2012 Author Report Posted November 20, 2012 Hi Bob Well its over 12 months since i created this post and i have now done around 45,000 miles in the car, with exactly the same turbo lag problems existing. I did speak to my local Fraud dealer a few months ago, and he said that there was still no new software update for the Mklll, so i suppose we have to live with its turbo lag failings. Quote
