Engine Starts Then Stalls

Hi can anyone help me !

My 2003 diesel has just been towed home by the AA.

It suddenly cut out and when restarsed it runs for a second and the stalls imeditally.

So I turn it over again and it starts staight away then stalls.

There is no cranking for ages as it fires first crank but just stops thereafter.

could it be a connection breaking down from the engine vibration?

Anyone had or heard of this problem?

have you dropped your keys at all ? you may have dammaged lost chip inside key , try a spare key see what happens

hi dadstax,it does sound like the chip in your key.i changed the battery in mine and when i tried to start it it was doing exactly the same thing.fired straight away but cut out.it was only on this site and thanks to "seatkid"s post that i realised the chip had fallen out.me and the mrs. were on our hands and knees for ages but luckily i found it and put back in and was perfect.could you have dropped the chip somehow?have you had your key apart for any reason?

Great Tip, I've had exactly the same problem today. Used the spare key and it fired up staright away and didn't stall. Will be out on the drive tomorrow looking for the chip!!
