Urgent Advice

Hi Guys

 

Broke down on Friday had to be recovered. Car is going on the ramp as i type.

 

The problem i lost drive, sitting at 70 coming into roadworks so eased of and slipped down to 5th gear....no drive!!! clutch pedal fine gear selection fine but no drive. Rolled into the hard shoulder. With the engine running i could select every gear without depressing the clutch!!!!!!!

 

Now there was no clonk, noise, no tell tale signs....has anyone got any ideas?? Quick response would be very appreciated
