Guest mstraxs Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Hi All Just a quickie as Im sure someone knows the answer.... Today I can't open the back door without the key. Is there any obvious fuse I should be checking. All other doors open and close via central locking fine only the tailgate wont open or close. So any suggestions of the top of your head. For Daves benefit in particular I have a 1998 Galaxy Tdi glx, dark blue, a few stone chips, 55% tyre tread left, holed speaker grills, missing horn buttons and desperately in need of a wash. There I think thats enough info..... :( Thanks in advance Quote

IIRC you had trouble with the lights on the hatch? so you you should know where to start looking :D Quote
HJT Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Sounds like a broken wire where the loom enters the tailgate, it's a common problem. Try a search on this, there is quite a lot of info on repairs. Howard Quote
Guest mstraxs Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Lol Just re-read my post and god I sound like a grumpy old man... lol Thanks Nimrod and Howard. I was hoping it was something easier like a fuse but kind of guessed it would be the loom. I will start investigating today. Mark Quote
