Staceh Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Does it overheat quickly, or slowly?Does the heater work?Any oil or coolant loss? Quote
twins Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 i have a 2.3 16 v ford galaxy and it would be runing fine and then overheating the next i went to frauds and was sold a sensor which went into the thermostat housing they sold me the wrong thing as this controlled the temperture on the dashboard . Atfer reading on here it that it could be headgasket causing pressure to build up in my expansion bottle causing it to overheat i decided to see if i could find a radiator fan switch or sensor, there isnt one on this car but there is a real under the bonnet with number 419 on the top of it which is located in a black box which has a few wires coming out of along with a red wire from the battery well if you look underneath it you will see this relay . I shook the relay and low and behold my fan came on so the problem all along was a bad connection and the car has stopped overheating Quote
