Are Seat, VW or Ford cheapest? does anyone know please? tezerez Posted September 16, 2011 Author Report Posted September 16, 2011 Thanks but no, I mean the arm does not put enough pressure on the blade. Instead of all 16 inches being swept, the top 1/3 of the blade furthest away from the bottom centre of the screen, doesnt get swept. The arc stops 5 or so inches away from where it should be especially at the top of the arc. The motor is fine as it reaches the bottom of a full sweep at either side. Its just a poor spring in the arm not putting enough pressure on. Quote
Mirez Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Seems to be quite common this as all 3 of mine have had issues but a new arm won't fix it - just bending the arm slightly to apply more pressure will fix it. Quote
v6mikey Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 I have fitted one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aero-Rear-Wiper-Arm-Blade-UPGRADE-VW-Sharan-05-02-/230672116440?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35b5212ad8#ht_1942wt_1021 Works well and matches the aero wipers on the front. Mirez Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Oddly enough that;s exactly what I've got on mine as well and yes it also fixes the problem :( Quote
bigdave982 Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 I had this problem on my mk1,quick squirt of wd40on the hinge did the trick. Now if only it would stop the erratic wiping on my mk2 Quote
tezerez Posted September 17, 2011 Author Report Posted September 17, 2011 Thanks again, have previously slightly bent the arm to bring more pressure. Have ordered new one from place suggested, looks decent price for whole kit. Quote
