sip Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Does anyone know if the AG4 auto gearbox was used on the Mk2 Galaxy or was this only used on Mk1. Also appreciate it if anyone can provide a likely price for one that was supplied by Ford dealer and has now covered 25K miles. Thanks in advance. Quote
Amarok Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) During my transmission investigation the AG4 (4 Speed Auto) was only fitted to the MK1 when the MK2 came along Ford introduced 2 new transmissions a close-ratio six-speed manual box and a five-speed ‘Select-Shift’ automatic that also allows for ‘push up, push down’ sequential manual gear-changes. No quite sure what you mean with 'provide a likely price for one that was supplied by Ford dealer' If you are looking for brand new from Ford ? I would budget for around £7000+ Regards Edited September 8, 2011 by Amarok Quote

Kind Regards Well at the time we were told that they were trying to source a recon box which for our information we were told would have cost about 2.3k fitted - in the end they couldn't get one so after 3 weeks we had a new one ... what a shame :-) .. trouble is over the years you spend on keeping the car on the road so you know that the cambelts been done, the looms been replaced etc etc so what do you do trade in for a car that you have little info about or keep the one you know ......
