gsxmax1 Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 A small question for the guru's of the forum. I have a 54 plate TDI Galaxy that is supposed to be a 130bhp one, but the previous owner (for what ever reason) had fitted a 115bhp engine (but still kept the 130 ECU). Long story short, it now has a 130bhp engine in, but needs some of the 115 kit/ancillaries changing. I have been informed by an independent VW garage that the current turbo is the 115 version. Now having done some looking around, there appears to be a visual difference between the 115 and 130 turbo's in that the 115 turbo inlet side has the cast outlet to the intercooler leaving at 90 degrees to the inlet to the turbo (ie almost in line with the exhaust outlet) while the 130 turbo has the cast outlet leaving parallel to the inlet. The small question is, are my visual differences correct? If not, are there any visual differences between the two, apart from trying to read the markings on the installed turbo? Many thanks for all answers received. Quote
