Hi Everybody, Im new to the forum and was wondering if someone could give me a clue (as im not technically minded lol) to where i can locate the idle control valve as there seems to be no piccies locating the damn thing. I Have a 2.3 petrol ghia galaxy on a y plate and its having idling problems and it cuts out when pulling up at lights ect..

Also i have discovered another problem im having and its with my rear window demister, When i turn it on it seems to activate the fog lamps dunno why???. But when i lift the tailgate up the fog lights go out and then back on when i close it.

Could anyone help as these problems are driving me crazy.. Many Thanks Djenigma.

Ok in very simple terms look at the top of your engine for the yellow filler cap, the valve should be roughly 3" to the back of it and maybe 4" to the right. It's alloy fixed with two bolts and has a paper gasket under it so be careful also has a plug on the end.Very common issue they simply sludge up inside, get yourself a can of carb cleaner and blast the crap out whilst moving the valve back and forth with your finger, refit and jobs done. Also cheap enough on Ebay to buy should you choose to do so. The issue with the lights has to be the wiring in the tailgate boot ( upper top right corner on mine ) pull the boot and have a look at the state of the wires inside you will be suprised just how many are damaged, well if it's any thing like mine you will :)

Best of luck mate...
