Evening Everyone!

Oil pressure warning light sometimes flashes once or twice immediately after startup (more frequently on cold start).

Oil levels are fine. Is this normal?

I have been informed that it may be a faulty oil pressure switch or worse!!

Car is 2000 (W) TDi 110 Zetec (Old Shape).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I get this sometimes on my 98 Tdi 110, 70,000 miles. This has been happening for well over a year ( can't remember exactly). I don't know about the Tdi engine, but VW's used to be overzealous with oil pressure monitoring, my old Polo had 2 seperate sensors on the engine. This came about because old Golf's used to suffer from sudden oil pump failure (going back 20 years here).

Anyway personally I wouldn't worry if it goes off within 3 or 4 seconds of starting.

Thanks Barrye.

I may change the oil pressure switch anyway as apparently they are not too expensive.

I will post back and let you know!
