mygalay Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Hi, There is an problem either with AC GAS or may be with something? AC works but you don't feel cooling! you just feel a normal air. Which doesn't cool the car. Any help? If it's a gas thing than any idea on its cost and the place to get it done. I am in South East. Thanks in advance, mygalay. Quote
bfc1001 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 how do u know it s working if it s not cooling? if there isnt enough gas in the system there s a pressure swich which cut s out your air con to save any damage to the system. what u need to check is that your compressor s turning on . when u press your air con button is there a slight drop in revs? ( just to add even though the ac light turn s on in your car it dosent mean that the system is working) . Quote
ACD1055 Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Take it to kwik fit I'm sure they do a service / re gas pretty cheap and if they can't get it 10% colder then you dont have to pay Quote
mygalay Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Thanks every one.Yeah, I am taking today to one of the private garage. Let's see how it goes! Cheers, Quote
ACD1055 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 How did you get on is it working now? Quote
mobile armchair Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 I have had this problem twice before. Usually there is a difficult to detect leak in the pipework which has caused gas to exit. Recharge without finding the leak may only last a couple of weeks so make sure garage investigate thoroughly. Btw when I took mine to Kwikfit they wouldn't touch it as they said they had to remove headlight to re-gas!? Quote
torvil Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Did you resolve this issue as I'm having the same problem, and my air con is working but not blowing cooled air. Quote
snappy Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 just a thought. I had my system topped up with gas a few weeks ago and it didn't work ... well it did for 30 mins or so then stopped! We finally found a damaged cable as it came out of the moulding of the theromostat. We could hear the thermo clicking on and off and the system was the jumping into life then stopping again. Finally we taped the wire tightly onto the thermo so it couldn't move and it's been fine ever since Quote
