ggobin Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 Hi. With vag com ensure you are testing the port and get the ok return from the software. (if your using vista on your laptop that can be a pain, I got hold of a xp unit worked perfectly) Once you get the ok you should be able to just select the modules you need. In this case the engine. I suspect that you will have sticking vanes on the turbo causing the car to go into limp mode, restarting clears the ecu. Its a common problem on the tdi. (see FAQ and also search the forum plenty of info) I had the exact same problem on mine with the caravan, I had not had the car that long, was unsure of the history, so have given the car a number of oil and filter changes! Some italian tuneups, keep the car services regular and have not had the issue for a while now. Vagcom should report something like negative pressure deviation or something like that - save and clear the codes as you don't know how old they are! Then if it happens again you can check the code knowing it's for the latest event. Where are based? Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on Quote
