pjwpjw Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 the mrs just got in and said that the ignition barrel on our 02 Mk2 1.9tdi was a bit too 'sensitive', and it was also making a noise when running. I went out and started the car and it seemed ok - however when turning the key a little bit clockwise when running, the starter engaged and span with a loud noise. obviously not normal - but is it an ignition barrel thats the problem or the starter solenoid? car starts and runs fine.
