loukas Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Hi All Can anyone put a light in a debate of XL Tyres.I need to replace the 4 tyres on my Galaxy and different fitting centers said you need XL as is an MPV and some others said you dont need them just use normal tyres. Regardsloukas Quote
sparky Paul Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Tyres for the mkI and mkII Galaxy (1995-2006 models) must have a load index of 94 or higher. For the most common Galaxy tyre size of 215/55R16, this means you must fit reinforced (RF) or extra load (XL). Quote
pjwpjw Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I have XLs fitted all round as reccomended on here. Only paid a few quid more. Quote
ads81 Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) As said above go reinforced, my mk1 had some normal load tyres when i bought and it from the mileage on the receipts they didn't seem to last long. In addition if the car was in an accident and the tyres weren't found to be up to manufacturers spec then god knows what they'd say. Edited August 3, 2011 by ads81 Quote
