1999 Ford Galaxy Alarm / Interior Light Problems

Hello

 

My 1999 Ford Galaxy has suddenly started giving me the following problems:

 

- car alarm has suddenly started going off at random times when locked

- interior lights stay on for a lot longer than they used to (up to 10-15 mins) before switching off

 

any ideas if these are linked?

any easy solutions?

can the alarm be turned off or disabled?

 

nb. I always lock the car with my key as the fob stopped working ages ago

My money would be a fault with broken wires to the tailgate, try turning off the interior light and see if the lights in the boot stay on
