ggobin Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Hi All I need to place the alternator pulley on my gal tdi. Have found a replacement on eBay but before I buy it just looking for confirmation of they correct tool needed and what is a good price? There are a number of tools for ford/vw but are different sizes :( If the cost of both is near the cost of a refurb alternator is it worth me just replacing the lot? If anyone has a tool that they would be wiling to lend I would be more than happy to cover costs and pay a dposit to cover the cost of the tool ? (just an idea :) ) Many ThanksGobosoft Quote

niallsan Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) Got this from another posthttp://www.machinema...rnator-tool-set I took my alternator into the local vw dealer and he replaced the pulley for €75. The cost of the pulley was €75 and he fitted it for free?!?!?!?! Maybe you could do the same? rgdsN Edited August 4, 2011 by niallsan Quote
