Just noticed that both front tyres have both worn on the inside edges, is it tracking or should i be looking for something else ?

Steering feels fine , if a little light for a big vehicle. Tyres are 215/50 usually get about 30,000 miles from them, done 72,000 to date. If its tracking any suggestions on checking and adjusting as alternatives to a 'stealership' experience?

My fronts appear to be wearing quite evenly. You can get the alignment checked at a tyre fitters. Could be that suspension wear is causing odd wear patterns after the mileage that you've done. I had a Rover 820 in the 1990's that wore its front tyres quite evenly, but once it passed 100,000 miles the wear pattern changed and I put it down to suspension bush wear. I sold the car rather than spending a fortune on suspension bushes, new driveshafts and a few other expensive items that needed doing.

Couldn't find previous thread on tyre wear and prices, so will update people here.

My Sharan 1.9TDi has 20,000 on clock and front are worn - evenly - backs look like they will go another 40,000. I use high pressure (42 front and 40 back) as the car is usually fully loaded.

I can recommend Martin's Tyres - have used them before. They are in West End, just off the Bagshot Road, a few miles from me!

Ivor - good to hear that - I will use them too. We live a couple of miles away also.

I was thinking I'd have to take a day off to go to Michedever. Only 30 mins drive I know - but once you add on the waiting around!!! Now I can just get the wife to take the car in.
