MrT Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Mine occaissionally does this, it feels a bit like a bike with a very slack chain. I had it thoroughly checked last week and there is no problem at all. However one problem which can give the same sympton is worn out engine/gearbox mounting bushes. Quote
Guest Murdock Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 can you get the bushes or is a mounting replacement needed? Quote
Guest jupiter_two Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 Be careful here, I had a similar fault which was cured initially by replacement of the mass air flow meter under warranty. 5,000 miles later ( and 2 months out of warranty ), the gearbox has now completely failed. Other postings here suggest the gearbox ECU may be a problem as well. My advice, get it sorted asap, my Tiptronic 115 TDi auto with all the toys is now in bits in a gearbox centre and will cost mucho Quote
