Guest VW Infiltrator Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Has anyone else seen the site for VAG-Com diagnostic software? (see http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/). It's PC based and a free trial can be downloaded; from what i have read it appears that it works ok with a Sharan so i assume that it will also work with a Galaxy or Alhambra. Not only will it collect fault codes but it'll also let you make the changes to the central locking, electric window settings etc that your handbook says only your dealer can do! The only issue i've found so far is where to purchase an affordable adapter to allow the connection of the PC to the diagnostic socket; the cheapest so far is about Quote
Guest Boggler Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Where have you found the adaptor and connector? Thanks Quote
Guest VW Infiltrator Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 The interface is at: http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/obdii_hardware.htm There are also lots of others on the net, including http://www.obdtool.com/ which comes with the VAG-com software on a CD. Cister Automotive Design (one of the VAG-Com uk distributors; see www.vag-com.co.uk/) charge about Quote
paulm Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I believe that Galaxys fitted with Ford engines use a different Coding system to the VW Sharan. Quote
Guest CCCTech Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 VAG-Com works with all the VAG range of cars (Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda), as far as I'm aware it will not work with Fords. It's a good tool, but the fully functional software will cost about another Quote
Guest Scott Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 This site states their kit can be used on Galaxy...Onboarddiagnostics ~ Scott Quote
Guest Scott Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I guess this company is using the same software? They have a drop down 'features' box on this page which shows key coding & radio coding (close to our hearts!!!) among all the other features, available for the Galaxy.
