HI all...I've just purchased a 2004 2.8V6 with MB-8000 DVD and built-in headrest screens. Only problem is, I can't get it to switch on! The audio unit is original Ford and even with the engine running and the radio on...AND holding the power button down for at least 10 seconds....nothing happens! Not even screens!

Any advice/solutions greatly appreciated as kids are driving me mad!

Many thanks...

I've just been beaten to a pulp by my kids for not sorting it... :)

Any advise on where to take it then around the Shropshire area?...apart from a Ford dealer..?

Cheers

Hi it's sounds like you have a power failure (feed) to the system, or yours (like mine) control module has failed. Check your supply with a mutimeter. Control module is over

The control unit does not do very much and I am not sure why so many go wrong. I have just bought a 2005 Galaxy and mine does not work either, at least I managed to find the circuit diagrams, enclosed, and having once been a real engineer I will have a go at mending it (once I get a working CD unit for the wife), I'll try to remember to post the results. The Ford TIS just tells you to check power (pin 6 rd) and then the check the radio power (you have to have the radio for a few seconds) pin 1 rd/wh.
