Guest p1948040 Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 I've bought cars half the price of our Galaxy and still got two remote keys. Come on Ford, you've got to do better... :) Quote
Guest ronr Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 In a car this price only one remote key is unbelievable. It is penny pinching like this that stopped me buying Fords and switching to Renaults several years ago. The new Espace was not available when I bought my Galaxy so having driven other peoples Galaxys and liking them I was persuaded to buy. I couldn't believe it when the dealer handed me my keys. Will Ford never learn. Why when they have an excellent product give the impression that other manufacturers offer better value. Quote
Guest Yoda Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 I to have just acquired a Galaxy & been handed a single remote key! Just how many single people buy a 7 seater vehicle? To be supplied just one remote key is truely a stupid move by Ford and they will ultimately pay the price for this sort of penny pinching. ;) Quote
Guest bayleaf63uk Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I have recently bought a 2nd hand Y-reg Galaxy, and thought the dealer was pulling a fast one when he only gave me one key... at least it's reassuring to know that others are in the same position!! I quite agree - 2 keys minimum please Ford... Quote
suzuki91 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 just got a mobile locksmith to cut and program a new key for me. the cost was half what ford wanted and dont forget he came to me!give him a call if you need anything for any make of car.01354 68032607900 890368 07752 080491 Quote
italiastar Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Sorry to praise the Seat again, but it comes with two diffrent remote keys - one standard key and one fold away (VW / Merc) type - replacements are apparently Quote
pj_andrew Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Write/email Ford. Enough people telling them that 1 key is not acceptable may make them rethink. Better than accepting it and doing nothing. Quote
Guest Danny Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Got two folding keys with mine! Maybe it depends on trim level? Quote
Dally Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 New Galaxy now comes with two remote keys - in Ghia guise only though! Quote
psg225 Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 I've just purchased a Ghia version of the Galaxy and like always I was only given one remote key. I don't see it written anywhere in the brochure that Ford will supply 2 remote keys with any version of the Galaxy. Quote
Dally Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 psq225Ā Here is the text from the latest brochure! (NB. 3rd line up from bottom) Quote
HJT Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 I see dual aircon is standard now on the Ghia. It certainly makes a difference in the back being able to adjust and angle the airflow through the roof vents.Ā Howard Quote
Dally Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 HowardĀ Auto dimming mirror too. In fact most of all the external trim changes ie the chrome grill, the chrome inserts etc are all only on the ghia versions!! Quote
GSMGuy Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Sure I remember reading a thread about getting a spare audi or vw folding key, and having the blank cut, then programming it to the system, done a few searches - but can't find it, can anyone remember if it was poss? I would really like a folding key to save it making holes in my pockets!!!Ā Mike Quote

Grumpy Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Dual Air ConCruise ControlElectric windows including rear 1/4 lightsTrip ComputerĀ ONLY 1 REMOTE KEYĀ Thanks Ford, I too thaught the dealer was trying to fob me off with one "normal" key and one remote key.Ā Before I traded my Scenic in, my wife and myself had our own keys and now we have to share, I always hang them up when I get in (yes I know the thieves know where to look) but she keeps them in her coat pocket / handbag so I always have to have a rummage before I can use the car.Ā The other car is a Citroen Xantia, this is the same (1 norm key 1 remote) but usually only I drive this so sharing keys is not an issue.Ā What is the point of having a normal second key, you cant use it if the car has been locked with the remote key. Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Ā Ā Ā Ā What is the point of having a normal second key, you cant use it if the car has been locked with the remote key. errr, try putting the none remote key in the key hole in the door and turning it  funnilly enough it unlocks or locks the doors depending on which way you turn it  Quote
Grumpy Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 And sets the alarm off?Ā At least thats what happens with my Citroen, must confess I assume it will happen with the Ford too Quote

Grumpy Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 OOPS...............................Ā Thats what you get for assuming (assume - makes an ASS out of U and ME!!)Ā Just assumed as the Citroens normal key set the alarm off then so would the FordsĀ Oh well glad I found this forum, thanks for the responses, next time I will check before I post.Ā Still think its c%$p that only 1 remote key is supplied though.Ā CheersĀ Nick Quote
Guest MATT Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Still think its c%$p that only 1 remote key is supplied though. it is!Ā all keys supplied should be remote - if the car has remote locking!Ā ie - my galaxy, my son, myself, and the wife all drive it, my son and me the most. wife has the normal key, so do i, and son has the remote one lolĀ MATT Quote
