DaveJH Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Problem: when turning the steering wheel, a loud plastic-ish click/clunk sound from the plastic housing just below the steering wheel. The problem has only just started, and the sound occurs at any speed, and seems independent of indicator position. Any suggestions as to the cause or cure would be much appreciated. DaveH. Ivor_E_Tower Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Is the wheel catching on your clothing? Quote
HJT Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 You could try removing the plastic surround round the steering column to check if anything is catching that. If it's still doing it, try getting someone to stick their head down there while it does it to narrow down where the noise is coming from. Just don't get seen by the police, they might think you're doing a Gillian Taylforth :D :D :D Howard Quote
DaveJH Posted May 20, 2004 Author Report Posted May 20, 2004 Thanks guy's for the various forms of advice. I shall remove the plastic surrounds from the steering column and try and pinpoint the source of the problem at the weekend. Dave JH Quote
