Get a 3/4" wide wood chisel. Shine a torch through the little trap door and locate the chisel in the centre groove on the plastic bulb holder. Unscrew anti clockwise then remove the chisel and put you hand in and remove the bulb holder.Reverse to refit. This way takes less the 2 minutes to chenge the bulb. Hope this helps Andy Met Quote
suzuki91 Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 just changed mine today, used a bit of copper pipe smacked flat to shape. strange that the nearside has more room for a hand?also had to have the lights on as they needed a wiggle to get working. Quote
SilverBeast Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 The nearside has more room as the air intake for the engine passes through the wing on the offside and has a plastic tube that links into the side of the air filter box - you can see where the air comes in when you lift the air filter out to change it. This gets in the way when changing the sidelight bullbs. Quote
acecard Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Its amazing the number of unconventional tools to get round this stupid design. I remember fashioning the end of a wood strip to fit the bulb holder. Its a pig of job. Incidentally, anyone know how much labour Fords charge for this?Spread some grease round the flaps afterwards else they can become seized with all the crap flung up the wheel arch. Quote
