To start with i have to get a jack and could someone please tell me if it is as straight forward as the Mk11

Nope and you'll need a piston wind back tool.

O.K Thanks for the heads up with the piston wind back tool.

 Done it really was as easy as the MK11 jack up car chock the wheels and release the handbrake. Take off one rear wheel, undo the filler cap for the brake fluid, see the two 12mm bolts that hold the calipers in place undo them, prize the brake pads off with a large screwdriver. Use the wind back tool to push the brake piston into the housing , replace the new pads and do up the two 12mm bolts. Replace the filler cap for the brake fluid apply handbrake. Do the same for the other side start with the filler cap to be undone and follow the same procedure. Took me just over 1 hour from start to finish :)

Darky, did you release the fluid through the bleed nipple when winding the pistons back or back through to the resevoir. It's important that you do it through the bleed nipple on each caliper or you may end up with "crud" in the ABS selector unit causing problems. Sorry I didn't mention this yesterday but was in a hurry and pleased that you found it easy. Did you have any problems with the caliper bolts?
