marksnavy Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Hi guys, strange one this.I have what looks like it could be a fuse hanging from the battery. Connected to it is 2 cables, one end is connected to the neg terminal on the battery and the other wire goes off into the car somewhere. Its got a number 25 on the item as well. I cant find a place to put it and there seems to be no associated faults, apart from the brake pad warning light is constantly on even though ive changed the pads and disks. Any ideas, cheers Quote

Cheers guys Does the Brake Pad warning light go out when you disconnect the pads ?, if it doesn't then you have a short in the wiring.on a separate issueHave you tried disconnecting the 'extra' wiring, I agree with the previous post putting a fuse on a negative terminal is very stupid !Regards Quote
marksnavy Posted May 1, 2011 Author Report Posted May 1, 2011 The extra wiring is already disconnected it's hanging loose, I've just never noticed it before. The light stays on regardlessof what state the plugs in, I wondered if it was something that had to be got rid of with a computer. Quote
Mirez Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Nope, will clear on its own and it can't be a short as its a ground loop circuit - when you changed the pads I take it you installed new ones with the wiring in place? If so make 100% sure the connector is connected for both the front and rear pads. Quote

Any ideas, cheers Re: The brake pad warning light - Have you checked the rear pads as well as the front as many vehicles now have the warning system on the rear pads. Quote
marksnavy Posted May 1, 2011 Author Report Posted May 1, 2011 Yes mines got one sensor on the left front and one on the right rear. All checked and connected correctly. Disconnected the battery for half an hour to see if that would clear the fault but it didn't help. Quote
