i have a 2003 galaxy and the remote central locking only works from the boot lock. if i try to lock or open the car from either drivers side or passenger side when key is inserted it just turns around and around and nothing happens. The key can rotate 360 degrees continuously but this will not lock or unlock doors and no sounds or engagment from door. only way to open car or lock it is from boot. Any ideas appreciated and how to repair this. This problem i knew about when i purchased the car. doors unlock and lock once inside the car as well

The door handle probably broken in some way. The handle is fairly easy to take off to inspect. Just one screw on the edge of the door above the door locking mechanism. Then push the handle forward (to the front of the car) and it should be possible to get it detached. The electrical part is still left inside the door. Thats probably working fine. A replacement handle will probably be needed. The down side is you will need other keys for the replacement handles, unless you are able to move the lock-cylinders from the old to the replacement handles. Moving the cylinders are tricky.

Its part of the antitheft system, either someones tried to use an incorrect key or the lock was frozen and they had to use excess force to move it, Either way its designed to snap the barrel which is why it rotates freely.

As above remove the handle. The kits for repair are available online and from dealers but removing the barrel from the lock requires it to be rotated so you may well need to replace instead.
