grayST24 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 when we decided to buy an mpv as the family car it was a toss up between the shalaxambra and the chrysler voyager oh how we wish we had bought the voyager ;) dont get me wrong i could love the galaxy if it wasnt for the amount of problems we have had with it in the couple of months we have owned ittbh its really quite crap that a car of this age has so many issues, i run a classic bmw 325 sport (1987) and in the 8 years i have owned that i haven't even had close to half the headaches that the galaxy has presented me with Quote
Mirez Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 So what model did you buy? What history did it have and what checks did you do prior to purchase? I've had 3 now over 5 years and 80k with no major problems at all. As with any car there are bad, poorly maintained trouble examples out there hence why proper history and checks are so important but don't kid yourself the voyager would be any better! Quote
gregers Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 mmm a chrylser eh,a m8 of mines got 1,if you think the galaxy gets hot in the summer try a voyager now that really is a green house. and as mirez has allready said, these cars do suffer a bit but when you have sorted out the problems they are a solid car. check out the faqs in the tech section of the forum for info on repairs. grayST24 Posted April 17, 2011 Author Report Posted April 17, 2011 (edited) @ Mirez I bought what I believed to be the best car available at the time...99 ford engined 2.3 auto ghia with near full service history, 115000 miles on the clock, full Mot, did my usual checks i.e. look for rot, play, overheating, switches etc at the time of purchase there were no issues other than the remote locking not working and it being due it's next service and needing new brake padsWith all that in mind and At Edited April 17, 2011 by grayST24 Quote
