StuffyDowding Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Hi all, New to the site. Last winter we had the key got stuck in the drivers lock when trying to open the door. I managed to get the key out but now the door is permanently locked. When I put the key in it just spins in the lock. Today (16th April 2011) I decided to take a look behind the door panel and have a mess around with the lock and hey presto the door unlocked - but.....................the electric windows went off. To put the windows back up I had to lock the car from the passenger side - windows went back up but the drivers door would not lock. With assistance while the windows were down, I stood at the passenger side while a friend pushed the handle in to locked the doors. Everything locked, windows up until I tried to open the car again. Windows worked but drivers door permanently locked again. HELP this is doing my head in. Plus I want to sell the car as spares or repair and it wont sell with a locked door. Quote
grayST24 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 If indeed you intend to sell it as spares or repair the door lock wouldn't matter to most, just list it with this information.. I am at my wits end with mine, I have had nothing but problems since buying the darn thing and one of the biggest problems has been the locking system.. I have sorted all the broken wires,greased all the locks and spent money on the kit to fix the broken bits in the handle itself which causes it to spin, only to find that when I locked the car it deadlocked everything AGAIN!!! And won't openI am sorely tempted to set fire to the thing!!! Shame because it could have been such a good car Quote

I have today completely swapped the drivers and passenger door handles over. The above link mentions one screw but in fact there are 2 screws on the door ends that release the barrel and handle....Now have a Galaxy I can lock from my door rather than boot - happy again (ish) Quote
