Air Con Re-charge How Oftern

Needed the Air Con cooling for the first time this summer. Wasn't cooling so took into fraud.

They claimed they couldn't find a leek but was only half full so have re-charged it. Car has only done 17k from new - less that 2 year old.

Is it normal to need recharging so soon?
