Jayton Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Hello all you Shalaxy owners :) I'm not sure how many of you have smart phones or tablet devices, but I hope someone finds this useful! I'm a bit of a geek and frankly like my gadgets, I've known of the Torque application for the Android OS for some time and plucked up the guts to buy a BlueTooth OBDII Dongle from ebay for Quote
sparky Paul Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Anyway I the app can check for DTC's (although it hasn't picked up my ABS sensor fault! I will be asking the developer about this) OBDII will only access engine related DTCs and data on the Galaxy/Sharan, it's not able to access DTCs or data from any other modules - there is no alternative to VAG-COM for ABS, gearbox, airbags, etc.. Likewise, VAG-COM is unable to access the Ford engines in the Galaxy, and you have to use OBDII or Ford's WDS. That said, the OBDII interface is a very useful tool for engine diagnostics, and of course works with virtually all vehicles of that era. Edited April 13, 2011 by sparky Paul Quote
