lowbo69 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Hi Guys, Just purchased a 2nd hand Galaxy 1.9TDI MkII. The dealer only supplied me with one key which works everything but is not remote. Could anyone tell me whether (pic) this is the right type of key for a MKII?? I have read somewhere that you can have the 3 button key if your rear tailgate has a motor, which it has. I know I'll have to get this type of key programmed but I do not want to go to Fraud as they have quoted Quote
Mirez Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Not a chance, the 3-button flip key is completely different to the Ford system - you've been reading too many mondeo forums :) The only flip key you'll get working is a very specific VW one and even then it requires modification to work properly. lowbo69 Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 So basically I can't get a remote key unless I go to Fraud! Bloody marvellous, new I shouldn't have gone back to Ford!! :) Quote
gregers Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 no you can, this type, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-GALAXY-VW-SHARAN-SEAT-ALHAMBRA-ETC-REMOTE-KEY-FOB-/160567300554?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25628e91ca BUT you will have to find the correct frequency????? horseshoe blank from ebay aswell, then get timpsons to cut the key, iirc about 7-8 quid. then do a search on here about having the pats chip reprogramed,NOW THATS THE BIT THATS EXPENSIVE AT A DEALERS.
