clivebristol1 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 I have just recently become the owner of a very good condition 2003, 2.3 petrol, manual, Galaxy and am generally speaking very chuffed!I would appreciate it if any longer term owners could help me out with these newbie questions. It came with no handbook so I don't know all the ins and outs of the controls etc. I thought I would buy a haynes manual, but the only ones I can find seem to be for the mkI 96/00 not the mk2 00/06 which I own. I wondered why that is. Could it be that it's a one size fits all models, or how do I get a specific one for my model. I have scoured the internet / ebay etc. and can only find one offered as a download I would really like to adapt the front passenger seat into a swivel seat as I intend to use the car as an occasional weekend camper. I wish to use the existing seat and use a plate or something to adapt it to swivel. Any advice on which plate is best to buy and will pass MOT inspection or any genius simple ideas, alternatives would be appreciated. The key must have been left without a battery and is no longer recognised by the central locking system. I have had about twenty different suggestions as to how to re-code the key, every one by a slightly different method, including the stand on one leg, turn around twice, whistle god save the queen on the first Tuesday of the month and buy the cat a kipper methods, but none seem to work. Can any one PLEASE let me know the method, which I believe is specific to my particular model and year to get my central locking to work. Many thanks to any willing helpers. Clive Quote

Many members on here use unofficial copies of the Ford TIS CDROM which is a very useful resource, you can find it for download on bittorrent sites... so rumour has it. That well known auction site used to be flooded with copies, but they seem to have clamped down on them... however, search for 'ford service cd' and you might just be lucky! It did depend upon trim level, but swivel seats were fitted to most Galaxys... it might be possible to retrofit the seat mechanism from a salvaged interior, I'm sure it would be worth looking into that as the standard swivel seat assembly works very well. As for the remote locking, the correct procedure for your car is in the FAQ section here... http://www.fordgalax...%BF%BDentry9914 ... look for the second post in the thread by seatkid. Hope this helps! Edited April 5, 2011 by sparky Paul Quote
