Guest maz Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Having only had my Galaxy for about a month now, I have a problem with filing up (which on the V6 is quite often  ). Each time I fill up - even if slowly and stopping before the automatic pump cut off kicks in - petrol comes out in a jet-like fountain all over the car (and until I got wise - me). Is this normal on the Galaxy ? Is there a fault with my fuel system and if so what ? Ta. Quote
Dally Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Snap! My v6 has been doing the last 4 or 5 times that I've filled up - gonna let the dealer look at it when I get time. Quote
Guest maz Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Phew! I'm not alone. Maybe someone will have an idea why it's doing it. Quote
Guest nimrod Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Do a search on the topic, its been mentioned before about the technique of filling up without blow back! I find not inserting the nozzle fully and tilting it towards the rear of car helps! this is mentioned on the TIS and it evolves a breather pipe that follows the filler pipe possibly being twisted/kinked and causing the blow back Quote
Guest maz Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Yet again - thanks Nimrod - you seem to know everything! I did eventually find the other post about this. Will try the different angles and depth of the nozzle. Quote
